Sweet Charity
is a strange movie.
Directed by legendary choreographer and dancer Bob Fosse, it's
a mix of drama, musical, and really bizarre dance scenes. What
makes it particularly strange is that the drama part is a remake
of Fellini's Nights of Cabiria. As a serious drama, it's a joke
compared to the original - Shirley MacLaine is not remotely in
the same league as Giulietta Masina. However - as a series of
dance scenes it is an absolutely stunning piece of art.
