20 Minutes

I made this video for Daughters last winter at the height of my recent Max Headroom obsession. (The British pilot and entire American series both stand the test of time extremely well - they were just as good as I remembered from seeing them back in the 80s.)

Max Headroom was also a huge influence on my short Abandoned TV. Aside from the obvious (a pirate TV broadcast from a future cyberpunkish world - obviously based on Big Time Television) is that Max Headroom proved to me that low-quality video could be as aesthetically pleasing as film grain. It's harder to do, harder to use, but the possibility is there. (I am not on board with the artistic use of mpeg artifacts however. Ugh.)
