I just finished a new video called Garden using footage that I
shot during Hurricane Irene. My original plan was to layer a bunch of
different shots, but when I started working on it I realized that I
really liked how the processing I was experimenting with worked on the
first shot, and that adding other layers just seemed gimmicky. So I
left it extremely minimalist, just one shot of the branches of a tree
whipping back and forth, with some sneaky processing. (The processing
was very compute intensive, which gave me an excuse to turn on my
compute server for the first time since last spring. What fun.)
