Punks

I find that ex-punks that move on to older forms of music generally yield excellent results.

James Chance went from Teenage Jesus and The Jerks to his own (brilliant) jazz/funk project The Contortions.

Tito Larriva was in The Plugz and eventually the incredibly catchy blues-rock outfit Tito & Tarantula.

(This Tito & Tarantula song makes me think of what The Doors would sound like if they were any good.)

And our own local Providence character, Juan Maciel, appeared on Richard Hell's second album as "Naux" and more recently as John "Crawlin' Snake" Mac.
