Alberto Burri

Cretto di Burri is a huge cement work of modern art located in Sicily made by Alberto Burri starting in 1985. It marks out the streets of an entire village destroyed in an earthquake in 1968.

I think it's interesting how reminiscent the piece is, on a massive scale, of a painting he did a few years earlier, in 1982:
