Eyes Wide Shut - a review by Dave Fischer
For most of the duration of this movie, I was giggling at the stupidity of it. It's a "mind games" sort of story, which of course means little more than rediculously unlikely scenarios, horribly contrived setups, and characters who insist on entangling themselves with every step, while pretending to be looking for a way out.
Oh yes, and it's all stupid contrived setups about erotic situations. OOOOO! That must make it clever, right?
However, there is one line in the movie that makes the entire thing suddenly seem worthwhile. All the unbelievable plot twists and character developments are justified in a simple five word sentance.
The pinnacle sex scene, after a long drawn-out build-up, has just finished in a sprint to the big simultaneous O. Deep heavy breathing for a few seconds, then she looks up at he and says:
You fuck like a girl.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA. Awesome.
See it just for that.
